Dr. Mittelman and the Mittelman Plastic Surgery Center are excited to offer DYSPORT®, the newest treatment for facial lines. Like BOTOX®, DYSPORT® is based on naturally occurring proteins that relax muscles and improve wrinkles in specific areas of the face and neck. Although recently approved for the United States, DYSPORT® has been used extensively in Europe for many years. DYSPORT® should only be injected by a trained certified physician who has an intimate knowledge and understanding of the muscular anatomy of the face as well as the aesthetic perspective of proper placement.

People with frown lines, forehead lines, neck muscle “bands”, crow’s feet, and smile lines around their eyes who wish to appear more relaxed, calmer and less tired are good candidates for the injection of DYSPORT®.

Dr. Mittelman specializes exclusively in facial cosmetic surgery and non-surgical facial rejuvenation techniques which include DYSPORT® injections. These non-invasive and non-surgical facial cosmetic procedures are available in Los Altos, Palo Alto, San Jose, Silicon Valley, and the entire Bay Area.

DYSPORT® works in an identical manner to BOTOX® by paralyzing muscles of the face that furrow brows and create fine lines and creases on the skin. Like BOTOX®, DYSPORT®, administered in a series of small injections, can reduce the appearance of these lines and help prevent others from forming. Subtle differences between BOTOX® and DYSPORT® may result in an earlier onset of action and longer duration of treatment in some patients. Most patients will find treatment with DYSPORT® to be identical to BOTOX®. 

DYSPORT® offers results with no downtime, no scarring, and a short treatment time. It is a treatment that can easily be undergone during a patient’s lunch hour. Because a DYSPORT® treatment lasts three to six months, any patient unhappy with the results can simply discontinue injections.
